MeadWestvaco Corporation has opened a state-of-the-art consumer packaging facility in Wuxi, People’s Republic of China. The Wuxi facility serves customers in the health, beauty, and food and beverage industries located throughout the Asia-Pacific region, and MeadWestvaco plans to also serve Eastern European and Middle Eastern markets from this facility. The capabilities of the Wuxi facility include MeadWestvaco Calmar pump and spray molding and assembly, and advanced technology offset printing. The 236,000 square foot operation will employ approximately 450 people by the end of 2007.
